We heard a lot of rumors that about Android Wear coming to iPhones, and today Google has confirmed it. Google has announced that certain Android Wear smartwatches can now be paired with specific iPhone models running iOS 8.2 or higher. The iPhone models that support Android Wear are the Apple iPhone 5, Apple iPhone 5c, Apple iPhone 5s, Apple iPhone 6 and Apple iPhone 6 Plus. All that an iOS user needs to do is download and install the new Android Wear for iOS app.

Google only officially lists the LG Watch Urbane as a compatible model, and Google has promised that all future Android Wear watches will come with support for iOS; but users online have reported that they have got the Moto 360, and LG G Watch R running the latest software to pair with an iPhone as well.
On an iPhone, the Android Wear app won’t be able to do everything it can on Android, but it does enable most of the useful features like checking notifications on your watch, read messages, set fitness goals, get daily and weekly views of your fitness progress, as well as receive various tips via Google Now. You can also say “Ok Google” followed by a command to get things done just by using your voice.
So if you’re an iPhone user, and if you have an Android Wear watch lying around, go ahead and download the Android Wear app from the Apple App Store here, and give it a try.
Share with your friends who are using an iPhone so they will know that the Apple Watch is not the only true smartwatch for them.
